FUMC Pastor
The Reverend Paul Holland
God’s call led me to be ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church on June 13, 1975. I was serving the United Methodist Church in Walden, Colorado at the time and from June 1976 to June 1979 was the Pastor at Upton, Wyoming.
I went back to library school at that point and worked at the library at Sterling College in Kansas and was director of public libraries in Holdrege, Nebraska; Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Sweetwater County in Wyoming. Yet ministry and the church played an important part in my life. I was an interim pastor for several churches in Kansas and Nebraska. I served in variety of capacities including unpaid youth minister for St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Idaho Falls for 16 years. While in Green River, I once again was asked to serve on an interim basis the Green River United Methodist Church which started the process of God calling me back into the full time ministry.
I was married on June 13, 1971 to my wife, Linda. We have two sons, Austin and Jonathan. We have served as a foster home and that has also been a part of our call. Thus we claim three daughters who were with us when they graduated from high school and with whom we still involved in their lives. They are Laura, Jaime, and JoAnne. This has provided us with any number of kids who call us grandpa and grandma and even 3 that can call us great grandpa and grandma.
June 13 dates show, I think; trust in the Lord over superstitions.
